此計畫的核心概念，是針對現有特定型號揚聲器的設計，將其驅動單體前端的所有元件，以近乎一對一的方式更換為更優異的零件，從而帶來可測量、可圖示化且令客戶驚豔的顯著提升。迄今為止，每一位收到「X」升級版揚聲器（甚至包括未標記的前身及早期部分升級測試版）的使用者，均給予極高的評價。此計畫至今獲得一致的好評。雖然不同型號有其特定功能，但 MG___X 升級計畫的核心特點如下：

更優質的電容器：

所有尚未升級的電容器，均更換為高品質、富含銅的聚丙烯電容器（組）。每個使用的電容器（組）均經過百分位級的個別測試，確保左右聲道分音器的電容值差異小於百分之五。隨著測試水準提升與容許公差降低，部分型號採用了微調數值，從而減少電容器使用數量，並使整體頻率響應更為平滑。

更優質的線圈（電感器）：

所有尚未升級的線圈，均更換為高線徑銅線、空心、繞線架繞製的線圈（陣列）。每個使用的線圈（陣列）均經過百分位級的個別測試，確保左右聲道分音器的電感值差異小於百分之五。視型號而定：考量到上述電容值的變化，部分數值會進行微調，以獲得整體更平滑的響應。

更優質的內部配線：

所有內部配線（連接真正鋁帶高音的綠色（+）與黃色（-）導線除外）均更換為 15 AWG 或更粗的實心銅線。多餘的配線（例如為方便組裝而留的長度）被完全移除。設計上仔細關注分音器元件的佈局、配置與路徑，以縮短線材長度並顯著減少整體的配線質量。左右聲道的分音器與銘牌阻抗經過確保等效，以達到理想的平衡。

更優質的連接：

電路中的所有連接點，從連接至銘牌端子螺絲的焊接端子、到分音器電路板、再到單體端子台及其迴路，皆採用焊接連接。除了銘牌上的端子螺絲、焊接端子與鎖緊螺母外，不使用任何機械式連接。

更優質的輸入端子：

所有銘牌上的組件均採用鍍金而非鍍鎳處理。

外觀：

MG20.7X 的外觀與其非 X 版本並無視覺上的明顯差異（除了原本非標配的鍍金銘牌組件外）。部分型號（如 MG1.7x）的分音器可能可見，因此在並排比較時會注意到明顯不同。型號名稱後方會有一個紅色的「X」標記，代表其屬於 X 升級計畫的產品。
