ERS
ERS stands for Energy Reference System. Our cables that feature ERS take a fundamentally new approach to signal coherence by using a separately shielded reference wire that interacts directly with the electromagnetic field around the cable, rather than simply draining noise away. The ERS wire should be connected to an accompanying Corepoint unit to provide the stable reference point that allows it to work.
Tungsten Inside
Our range of products bearing the Tungsten Inside mark contain a unique mineral mix that features Tungsten granules. Our research has found this specific material to offer even greater performance when used in our grounding applications.
Cleaner digital data, better music
Primer Core Digital Signal Cables are the entry point to Entreq’s new cable architecture, succeeding our Primer Pro Digital Signal Cables. It is designed around the same principle as Delphius – that a signal is shaped as much by the electromagnetic environment around the cable as by the conductor itself – and brings that approach to a wider range of systems.
Digital signal is often assumed to be immune to the kind of degradation that affects analogue, but in practice the high-frequency square waves that carry digital audio are just as sensitive to the electromagnetic environment around them. Timing precision, signal integrity and the noise that travels alongside the bitstream all directly shape what your DAC, streamer or processor receives at the other end.
At the core of Primer Core Digital is the Energy Reference System (ERS) – a separately shielded reference wire that works in concert with the Corepoint Signal unit supplied with every cable. Where a conventional drain wire carries induced noise away, ERS interacts with the electromagnetic field around the cable, with the Corepoint providing the stable reference point that allows it to do so. The result is digital signal delivered with much of the coherence and stability the format depends on – cleaner, more precise, and largely free of the high-frequency noise that compromises detail and timing further down the chain.
Hand-built in Sweden
The Primer Core Digital Signal Cable is constructed entirely by hand at our facility in Sweden. It uses copper conductors, a copper ERS wire and hook, cotton dielectric, and connectors customised to our exact specifications. The Corepoint Signal unit connects to the ERS wire via spade connector.
Configurations
Primer Core Digital Signal is supplied with a Corepoint Signal unit and is available in four formats to suit every common digital connection in a high-end system:
- USB for connections between streamers, computers and USB DACs
- RJ45 Network for Ethernet connections between network components
- RCA for coaxial S/PDIF digital connections
All formats feature connectors customised to our exact specifications. Available in standard lengths of 1.1m and 1.65m with custom lengths available on request; please contact us for specifics relating to your system.
Take your sound further with Max posts
Every Corepoint unit can be taken further with the addition of an Entreq Max post (sold separately). The Max range — Max T, Max S, Max Ti, Max Pa, Max Pl and the range-topping Max Supreme — allows the performance of the cable to be extended further, incrementally, as your system and needs change. Your investment in Primer Core is not a fixed decision; it is the start of an architecture that grows with your system.
Part of the Entreq system
Primer Core is at its best as part of a properly prepared system. Entreq grounding, Magneus at the entry points, and Protectus, Vibbeaters and MaxMix T2 shaping the field around your components all make the next step more effective. Used together, as a coherent system, Entreq products let your components deliver everything they are capable of.
