The Isobaric Downfiring Bass Reflex System contains of an internal 6,5” driver working parallel with a bottom mounted 8” driver. You can expect a tight, controlled and very powerful experience.
The R 6 cabinets are assembled with thick non-resonant vacuum pressured shells and are constructed using high density hardwood (HDF) for the best possible strength and low resonance. The teardrop shape in combination with a laminated, dense, strong and heavy rear baffle further reduces unwanted cabinet resonance and avoids standing waves. When assembled, the cabinets are heavily braced internally and carefully damped with strategically positioned Nano Pore damping plates.
The R 6 model is available in three versions (Signature, Avantgarde and Arreté) which use increasingly complex concepts and technologies. The type of tweeter used is also one of the distinguishing points between the three versions, with the Arreté AMT tweeter being the finest and most sophisticated (find more about the Arreté technologies here).
Rather than having to buy standard drive units from even the best, most respected manufacturers, we engineer our drivers in-house and ask the finest Danish supplier to build them for us. This way we ensure that we can co-engineer our own drive units with our own crossovers to form a perfect entity. To further improve realism and depth of field, the new R 6 Arreté now uses a rear firing 3” midrange driver with its own dedicated crossover. The theory behind using a rear firing driver is inspired by our reference R 11 Arreté and R 8 Arreté. The construction also adds a perfectly measured level of midrange. Exclusively on R 6 Arreté.
Audiovector Freedom is a new and revolutionary grounding technology, which addresses the movement induced distortion of and between the drive units in a loudspeaker. The currents running between the chassis are being processed and dealt with through a new separate crossover, which routes the signal to the ground terminal of your wall socket or your grounded mains distribution unit. Contrary to conventional knowledge, these currencies cause coloration and distortion between the drive units. By balancing and filtering these through a dedicated separate filter and by offering the possibility of connecting the speakers to earth/ground, we achieve a clean, very accurate, significantly more realistic sound with a low noise floor. R 6 EXPLAINED
THE NEW AUDIOVECTOR HIGH FREQUENCY DRIVERS
The AMT drivers (R 6 Avantgarde, R 6 Arreté) feature ultra-strong Neodymium magnets, lightweight precision coated mylar membranes and are mounted and decoupled from the cabinet in three points, a proprietary Audiovector concept called No Energy Storage (NES). The tweeters are open to the front and to the rear, and are able to move freely due to the Soundstage Enhancement Concept (SEC). All drivers are handmade in Denmark.
3” REAR FIRING MIDRANGE DRIVER
To further improve realism and increase the depth of field, the new R 6 Arreté now uses a rear firing 3” midrange driver with a dedicated crossover. The technology using a rear firing driver is inspired by the R 8 Arreté. The construction adds a perfectly dosed level of midrange. R 6 Arreté Only.
NEW COMPOUND BASS SYSTEM
All R 6 models (Signature, Avantgarde & Arreté) have been generously upgraded with a new internal bass system. The Audiovector Isobaric Compound Bass system (ICB) consists of 2 hand-built bass drivers, a 6.5” internal woofer and 8” external downfiring woofer. The masses of the two bass drivers involved are coupled together by the trapped air in their common internal enclosure. The system ´breathes´ through a perfectly tuned bass reflex port on the front of the loudspeaker. This construction allows for deep bass, precise playback and increased dynamics in its response.
THE NEW AUDIOVECTOR CARBON DRIVE UNITS, PRECISION AND HIGH DEFINITION
The combination of Titanium Coil Technology, large powerful ceramic ferrite magnets and rigid turbulence suppressing magnesium alloy, 3-point suspended baskets and membranes made from cross woven Aramid Composite Fibres, allows us to achieve a rich, clear and vibrant sound. All drive units are handmade in Denmark.
Colours and Veneers
At Audiovector we use only carefully selected real wood veneers. We offer a wide variety of custom paint finishes which are painted in Denmark. Availability on request.
