Precious but different
Palladium and Platinum are closely related materials, but their contributions to audio applications are not the same. Where Platinum brings the refinement and clarity that characterises Max Pl, Palladium has its own voice. It brings a sense of body and substance to the music, a quality of warmth and presence that some listeners find immediately preferable. Max Pa pairs Palladium with the Tungsten base that runs through the Max range, producing a post that sits alongside Max Pl in the upper tier of the family.
A step up in the Max range
Max Pa is part of the upper tier of the Max range, sitting alongside Max Pl as one of the two precious-metal posts that mark a significant further gain in performance. Where Max T, Max S and Max Ti each lift the performance of the system audibly, Max Pa brings a step change in the way the music inhabits your room, making it a clear and considered investment for systems ready to take advantage of what it offers.
Characteristics
We consider each Max post a step up on the one before, and with the Max Pa the character shifts towards neutrality. In our reference system, it’s tonally even-handed, but brings more air, more 3D, a better sound stage and greater low-level detail retrieval than our reference, the Max T. Less about shaping the balance, more about revealing what’s already there. That’s our experience, in our system — yours may take it somewhere different, and finding out is half the pleasure.
The Max post architecture
Like every Entreq Max post, Max Pa contains a specific configuration of materials housed in a wooden body, designed to influence the electromagnetic behaviour at the reference point of a Corepoint unit or a ground box. The wooden body is chosen for its electromagnetic neutrality, allowing the active materials inside the post to do their work without interference from the housing.
Fitting Max Pa
Max Pa takes the place of the standard wooden cap on the Corepoint or ground box, attaching to the same threaded post and holding the ERS wire or grounding cable in position. No other change to the system is required, and Max Pa can be swapped for any other Max post at any time. The architecture is open-ended by design.
Hand-built in Sweden
Max Pa is hand-built at our facility in Sweden, using a wooden body and a specific configuration of materials including Tungsten and Palladium. Given the rarity of Palladium in our most advanced applications, the composition has been developed and refined through extensive testing on our reference system to make the most of every contribution it brings.
Compatible with Corepoint, Ground Boxes and Tuss Kit
Max Pa was developed alongside the Corepoint architecture supplied with our Delphius and Primer Core cables, and is equally suitable for use with our ground boxes and Tuss Kit. In all applications, Max Pa simply screws onto the threaded post of the host product.
